Project Description
Switch Networks, CCTV Installers, IT & Telecoms Provider assisted Roxy Leisure with various services including installation of a secure wireless network for their venues nationwide including sites in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and Birmingham.
Roxy leisure are a chain of bars that are dedicated to giving their customers a fun experience, offering gaming, great beer, great food and great music. Their large venues are spread across several floors and required a secure wireless network for devices such as tablets to take food orders and card payment machines in all areas across the site. They would also need complete Wi-Fi coverage to allow customers to place food and drink orders and make payments through a web portal.
The network infrastructure would need to be designed to incorporate different types of devices including tills, printers, card machines, wireless access points, music systems, heating control systems and CCTV cameras.
The city centre bars relied heavily on the internet to run their business, so a consistent and reliable internet connection was paramount.
The Challenges
Because their venues are in city centre locations, the standard broadband available had poor speeds and intermittent connections.
Customer unable to see activity on network or diagnose network issues remotely.
Site work – Network installation work to be carried out on high cable trays using a scissor lift.
The Solutions
Switch Networks provided a Dedicated leased line, giving Roxy Leisure a reliable connection with optimum speeds. Because a dedicated leased line is not shared with any other business, they would not experience latency issues during busy periods.
Our engineers installed a managed Network that gave a full overview of the network and connected devices. This allowed changes to be made remotely and automatic updates to network firmware.
IPAF trained engineers were sent to operate the Mobile elevated work platform (MEWP).
Switch Networks have continued to offer the client services such as remote network support, additional network infrastructure, expansion of telephone system and CCTV.
