Project Description
Switch Networks, Telecoms, Broadband & VoIP Provider assisted Topcliffe Surgery in Thirsk with a new VoIP phone system.
Topcliffe Surgery is a busy Doctors surgery and pharmacy in Topcliffe, Thirsk. Their existing business telephone system was an outdated PBX system and could not offer the features needed for a busy surgery. They required a call management facility that would allow incoming calls to be queued during busy periods and routed to receptionists.
Automated scheduling systems with customisable messages were needed to inform patients of contact options outside of opening hours. Call queue position announcements would be played to patients in the queue.
Switch Networks installed a dedicated broadband connection for a VoIP telephone system. The system was configured with advanced call handling features.
When Covid restrictions came into force, the flexibility of the phone system would prove invaluable to the surgery.
The Challenges
It was important that outbound lines were always available for Doctors to make outbound calls when needed.
No existing network infrastructure in place for the VoIP telephone handsets.
Complexity of the call scheduling would need careful consideration.
The Solutions
New network infrastructure was implemented. Additional network points were installed to accommodate the IP telephones across the surgery.
A call schedule was created to keep patients informed of contact options and call queue groups were added to manage incoming calls.
Switch Networks continue to offer the client services such as ongoing telephone system support and CCTV system installation.
Testimonials
A really professional company to deal with, took time to understand our brief and what we needed, offered a bespoke solution and installed the equipment around down time at a busy rural GP surgery with the minimum of fuss. Available post installation for those inevitable tweaks to the system, nothing is too much trouble.
