Project Description
To assist in the removal of legacy hardware from a large data cabinet and data cable installation at their city centre office in York, North Yorkshire.
The customer wanted to reclaim space in their office. The existing data cabinet was extremely untidy and oversized for the customer’s needs.
The Challenges
The office staff would need to be operational during normal business hours, so the work was required to be undertaken outside of these times.
The existing data cabinet contained UPS, Firewalls and Servers that all needed to be plugged back into the correct ports to ensure the office was operational the following morning.
The Solutions
It was vitally important to ensure that all cables were carefully labelled for hardware and devices before removal so that everything was plugged in to the correct network ports. Any unused cabling was removed allowing for a more suitably sized cabinet.
All oversized cables were replaced with more suitable lengths to make it easier for the customer to see where their devices were connected.
All devices in the office were then tested to ensure the network was operational for staff to return to work the following morning.
Testimonials
Fantastic service, the guys were always on time, could not fault anything about the work. We will definitely work with them again.
